Lacquer Box Showing
Thursday, February 24th, 2011
Welcome to our Thursday lacquer box showing. Kholui artist E. Grachev starts us off with a view of historic St. Petersburg. The exquisite details, the elaborate side ornament, the large size and the beautiful color palette make this one of the most spectacular city scenes we have ever had. The other two boxes come from Palekh artist Evgegniya Nebogatova, which are based on short Russian folk tales. Both pieces are really quite charming, as well as being expertly painted in Nebogatova's distinctive style. Thanks for checking in. Don't forget, Wednesday of next week is Make-an-Offer Day. If you are interested in one of our boxes, and can't quite get yourself to pay full price, then this is the day for you.
