Lacquer Box Showing
Thursday, February 18th, 2010
Welcome! Two lacquer miniatures by Fedoskino artist standout Natalya Orlova comprise this small showing today. Both pieces were exhibited at the Dmitrov Kremlin Museum in 2009 and both are quite special inside and out. Orlova has combined her great talent in fine miniature painting with unique sculpted elements and delicate additions of gemstones to create these one-of-a-kind pieces. We are going to be taking a small break from our Thursday lacquer box showings for the next month or so, but we will entertain you with a few other Russian items, including some great etchings and a very unique cloth painting in the weeks to come. Please check us out every now and then! In the meantime, enjoy these two works by Orlova. We couldn't have ended this round of showings on a better note!
