Today six exquisite miniatures from Fedoskino are featured in this week's showing, all showing lovely woman in natural settings. The two half-spherical shaped pieces by Mochalova are gorgeous with their interesting form, feminine beauty and all the creatures of the wild. But stealing the show may be Evdokimova-Belovodova's "Malachite", a reference not only to the character in a story it depicts (the Mistress of Copper Mountain, protector of the Malachite Mountain), but also to the small chips of malachite stones embedded in the lid and the bottom. The box is truly a jewel, both literally and figuratively!
