Lacquer Box Showing
Thursday, December 17th, 2009
Good afternoon! Welcome to our newest showing featuring twelve great examples of high quality Russian lacquer boxes. "Pokrovsky Cathedral" (aka St. Basil's Cathedral) starts us off today and is a very lovely and impressive piece. Those who have been to Moscow may want to consider this one as it will undoubtedly bring back some cherished memories. "Summer" and "The Snow Maiden" follow, both accentuating the beauty and innocence of these young woman and the environment in which they live. Other boxes of interest include three by the highly underrated Fedoskino artist Svyatchenkov, known for doing a variety of beautiful portraits and landscapes. We think you will like the ones here.Thank you for checking in. We do appreciate it, and we know it is busy for you this time of year. But, if you get a chance, check out our new "Box Wizard" on the previous page. You may just find a box you never noticed before on the site.
