Lacquer Box Showing
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
Good day! We only have three works for you today, painted by three very talented Fedoskino women artists. It never ceases to amaze us just how much effort must go into painting the fine details of the boxes, and the ones here are sterling examples of such dedication. Not a single square inch on the entire surface of "The Mystery of the Black Pearl" or "The Snow Queen" is taken for granted. Much thought, and a very steady hand, have been directed to each part of these little wonders. If you are in Baltimore sometime, please come to our gallery where you will be able to see the beauty for yourself, holding and turning the box in your hands. (Of course, I'll be standing very close by just in case you drop it.) Until then, we will do the best we can with these pictures and a short description.Next week, we will have an assortment of modern day painted icons to show you, from the same artists that do the wonderful Palekh boxes. Have a good weekend! Page 1 of 1 total page with 2 results.
