Lacquer Box Showing
Thursday, August 6th, 2009
Welcome to this our latest showing! After a few weeks hiatus, which we used to redo the interior of our gallery space in Baltimore, we have a small selection of some very beautiful miniatures to bring you today. We start with "Sleeping Beauty" by one of the rising stars of Fedoskino, Svetlana Belovodova-Evdokimova. Two of her works, in fact, were shown in the book "Russian Lacquer Miniatures: New Visions" (page 52, 90 and 91). Per square inch, this may be the most expensive box on our site, but it may well be worth it. It's exquisite, and looks even better in person! Besides this we have several boxes that are closer in price and each one is special in its own way. We welcome you to take a look more closely. And if you are seeking a box from a highly respected artist that won't cost you an arm and a leg, then you might consider the beautiful "Birch Trees" by Parmenov. That one will surely go fast. Enjoy and stop in again next week when we will bring you nine new pieces from the village of Kholui.
