Lacquer Box Showing
Thursday, May 21st, 2009
Greetings! This week we have nine beautiful boxes to delight your senses and tempt your will power. We start with our premier piece "September" by the highly regarded Fedoskino artist E. Aldoshkina. This image of a young woman collecting berries is sincere, true to the folk ideals of Russian lacquer art, and deceptively good. I. Turbeneva, meanwhile, gives us "The Scarlet Flower" and her unique style and color palette has caught the attention of more than a few collectors lately. The top row's last box by P. Govorun is one of the best that we've seen from this the innovative Fedoskino artist. The beautiful background color (darker than we usually see in his works) provides an especially appealing atmospheric setting to the romantic couple on front, and the geese on back. Beautiful landscapes and architectural pieces are also featured in this showing, so don't miss looking at those. And if you like butterflies, be sure to look at the closeup shots of the two by Fedoskino artist Davydova.Thank you for checking in, and enjoy the long weekend. Please join us for another showing next Thursday at noon. Page 1 of 1 total page with 8 results.
