Lacquer Box Showing
Thursday, March 19th, 2009
Welcome! Today's showing features a small selection of well done traditional pieces from
Kholui and Mstera, as well as a lovely poetic landscape from Fedoskino. But leading the show
off is by far the smallest work in the showing, "The Fan", by renowned Fedoskino artist S.
Evdokimova-Belovodova. And this one is a true gem. In fact, several gemstones and pearls have
been worked into its composition, with the latter even serving a functional purpose. Within a
very small surface area of (about an inch in both directions) Evdokimova-Belovodova has created
this perfectly refined Russian miniature. We think that this little box will have a large
appeal to connoisseurs of this art form.Enjoy the showing, and come back next week when we will be bringing back "Showing B", complete with Baba-Yaga. Page 1 of 1 total page with 4 results.
