Various scenes from the Russian countryside life are painted on this gorgeous 11" nesting doll set. The largest doll depicts the traditional Russian circle dance with chorus ("Khorovod"), the second doll depicts a man with a horse, carrying wooden logs, and the third has two women talking in front of a village home. Each one of the ten dolls in this beautiful large set has blue eyes, light brown hair, and displays a Russian folk scene. The back of each doll is decorated with an elaborate flower design (traditional Russian shawl designs). The bottom of the largest doll is signed with the names of the artists (U. Bednova and I. Popovceva) and city (Sergiev-Posad).
