Resting comfortably among the lush greenery, this gorgeous dachshund has an air of royal importance about it. This solemn effect is counteracted by soft shades of brown and large imploring eyes of the pooch, imparting a cozy, sweet sweet tone to this work. The painting is very detailed, with many fine individual strokes forming the dachshund's fur. A rich, elaborate gold and silver ornament interwoven with small dots of red and teal surrounds the painting, and the same but larger ornament decorates the sides of the box. The bottom of the painting is signed with the name of the artist, village, and composition.
This box is made from high quality papier mache. It stands on four small legs, and has a hinge at the top. The interior is red. Inside is a folded certificate with details on the box. Lacquer is in excellent condition.
