Young Palekh artist Arsenij Smirnov, son of Palekh artist Vera Smirnova, did this handsome box showing a man walking his dog through a grove of trees. The gold leaf on the trees and shrubs is quite precise and all the leaves have a different shape and unique look. The dog won't win any dog shows, but these are the best kind. The box has an extremely elaborate and first rate gold ornaments on the top and sides which shine radiantly. There is a hinge and the interior is red. The box is signed with the name of the artist, village, title and year.
