Two men in a small boat look toward another ship with three large sails. An old lighthouse stands nearby and tall mountains can be seen in the background. A number of seagulls float through the sky with their white wings fully extended, mimicking the sails of the ships. Both the sky and water have a nice glow to them in different areas, made possible by the time honored techniques of Fedoskino painting. The sides and bottom of the box are a light plum color, the interior is dark red. The box is made out of papier mache, has a hinge at the top and is signed with the name of the artist, L. Davydov, and year.
