A hunter raises his hand aloft, sending his trained falcon soaring into the roiling, malachite colored sky. A fox cowers beneath a bank of earth, gazing nervously at the sharp hooves of the hunter's rearing mount. Elaborate golden scrolls decorate the corners, echoing the spirals of mane, clouds and cape within the scene, to reinforce the strong sense of movement. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the lid with the title, village, and artist's name (S. Sheronova). There is a hinge on the left, and the interior is red lacquer. It rests on four curved legs.
