North Palmyra is another name for the famous city of St. Petersburg, speaking to its grandiose architecture. Here we see a red-headed young woman with a small ship and city upon her head! Her long locks wrap themselves around bare winter trees. Gold inlay is placed with care to accent her hair, pocket watch, as well as her glass globe in her hands. Cheerful blues and reds decorate the sides of this whimsical box. This piece is made of high quality papier mache with a red lacquer interior. It is signed with the title, artist (Danchenko), village and year. The box is flush.
