Two young hunters ride their richly maned horses in search of their prey. There is the face of a buck who is peeking out from behind the bush, but it would be hard to wish the men, gallant as they are, success in slaying this sympathetic creature of the forest. The men and horses are drawn throughout in a lovely mix of colors and high degree of intricacy. The gold ornamentation around the composition is very elaborate and exciting, and frames the scene perfectly. The box is made out of highq quality papier mache and has a hinge at the left. The interior is red. Signed with the name of the artist, village and title. A very captivating piece.
