Lubava stands on the shore of Novgorod, waiting for her beloved Sadko to return from his sea adventure. The radiant gold in her dress, in the rocks on the shore, and in the magnificent Russian architecture in the background create a very rich look to this piece. The drawing is framed with a gold line ornament and another adorns the sides. The remaining outside portions of the box are black, the inside is red. It made out of papier mache, has a hinge at the left, stands on four small legs, and is signed with the name of the artist. A lovely traditional work.
