The beautiful architecture of an old Russian town is shown on the exquisite little box by Kholui artist A. Zimin. Intricate details can be seen all over such as the bells in the towers, individual logs in the old houses and branches of the trees. A dusting of silver has been applied to some of the roofs and gives them a nice glow. The artist painted a smaller building on the front side of the box, and nicely done gold and silver ornamentation on the other sides. The box is made out of high quality papier mache and sits on four small rounded legs. The interior is red and there is a hinge. The artist signed his name, village and title at the bottom of the composition.
