A young lady has picked a basket full of flowers and now rests, leaning back on an old tree trunk. She looks at the water of a small brook nearby, lost in her thoughts. A perfect moment in life, drawn beautifully by Fedoskino artist N. Karpenko. The top and bottom hem of the girl's dress have been done using radiant gold leaf. It is the only application of gold in the entire work and is very effective. The sides and bottom are a mix of blues, turquoise, off whites, and a hint of green. There is a gold ornament on the top and sides, as well, but this gold is a little more understated than the gold in the dress. The box sits on four small legs and has a hinge at the top. It is made out of high quality papier mache. Signed at the bottom of the drawing with the name of the artist and village
