The grand prince Alexander Nevsky, who would later become a saint, leads the Russian forces to victory, thwarting an invasion by the Swedes in this box by Chugunov. The scene is nicely painted in vivid colors, with a dynamic composition. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the lid with the title, artist's name, and village. There is a hinge at the top, and the interior is red lacquer. The flush base bears the phrase, "Made in USSR."
