This abalone shell box features two winter landscapes: one on the outside and one on the inside of the box. Two fir-trees in the foreground, the bridge crossing a frozen river, and a trodden snow path all lead to a church with golden domes rising against the cloudy sky. The wooden village homes are visible far in the distance, and the scene is framed by tree branches covered with snow. A flock of birds is circling around the church, and one bird is perched on a tree branch in the foreground. A very similar landscape is also found inside and the outer sides of the box.

Abalone shell makes up the top part of this beautiful box, while the bottom part is made from papier mache. The box is elevated above the ground with sculpted edges on the bottom. It has a hinge at the top and a red interior (with the inside of the lid revealing the second landscape). Signed with the name of the artist and village.
