A poised stork stands still among the bulrush. His blue and brown hues contrast beautifully against the predominantly light green surroundings. Tiny violet flowers to his left echo the colors of his coat, while the lonely white lotus floating in the forefront adds a nice nuance to the scenery. The lotus and the stork are painted on protruding areas of the box, creating a bit of a 3-D effect. This peaceful and unique work would fit well in a collection of nature-themed boxes, and/or would make a fun baby shower gift!

The box is made from papier mache. It sits flat (no legs) and has a hinge on the left. The interior is red. Signed with artist's name and village. Lacquer is in good condition.
