The faces here are painted with smooth tender brushstrokes and the intricate gold work provides an appropriate radiant glow to the scene. Behind Mary and Jeus you can catch a glimpse of a painting (or is it a window to the outside?) showing a beautiful landscape with leafy trees and majestic architecture. The box has a skillfully painted gold border around its side. It is made out of high quality papier mache, a hinge at the side, and stands on four small legs. Signed at the bottom of the drawing with the name of the artist, village and year.
