Lovely miniature from the village of Mstera showing a troika with driver and passenger. Little spirals of wind stirred up from the horses' gait seem to act as a border within a border as they circle around the group. The traditional gold border against the black background which adorns the top and sides is nicely done, too. The box is made out of high quality papier mache. It is signed with the name of the artist, village and title. An excellent traditional work with a great Russian flavor.
