Glimpses of a rural Russia in winter are seen in this 8.5 inch nesting doll. The blue eyed maiden is particularly attractive on the main piece, and the lines of radiant gold and glitter on parts of her clothing and headdress are a real eyecatcher. Other wintry scenes are painted on the remaining pieces. (The piece that is slightly obscured in the photo shows a snow covered wooden house and fir tree.) The doll is lacquered and very colorful throughout. Hand painted and hand drawn by a skilled nesting doll artisan.
