Slender crosses atop bulbous church domes pierce the swirling, winter grey sky. The domed shape of the box, with creative perspective, creates an intriguing illusion of depth. The subtle tones of the trees harmonize beautifully with the grey greens of the sky and ground, and the smaller white church seems to have risen from the snow. The deep red brick and pale blue domes of the larger church add contrast and warmth. This box is made of high quality papier mache, and is signed discreetly on the lid with the artist's name (Lariev), and date of completion. There s a hinge at the top, and the interior is red lacquer. The base of this piece is flush.
