As one of our jewelry-box style boxes, this is a grand set. The sides of the box are stained a deep cherry and feature detailed carvings to reveal the wood's natural blonde. The top features a medium mocha stain with a deeper mocha on the detailing. The edge along the top displays a lovely floral design. The inside of the box is lined with plush burgundy fabric.
The pieces are defined by a slightly shorter and rounder stature than some of our other sets. An interesting star is prominent on some pieces,such as the pawn's shield. The "Black" pieces are stained the same deep cherry as the box's sides.The "whites" are blonde with a lacquer finish. A beautiful set!
