This print, which measures 21 inches by 13.5 inches, was first done on a smaller lacquer box by the well regarded Fedoskino artist Evgenij Merkulov and is now available in the form of this gorgeous large giclée reproduction to hang on the wall. While not all boxes lend themselves to the transformation from one medium to another (box to print), this one does -- in a breathtaking way. The connoisseur depicted here brings a refined presence to the work, and the reproduction of the gold and mother-of-pearl elements of the original box is amazing. The artist himself has authorized this limited edition of 200 prints and a signed certificate by Merkulov will be included with each.
