Ivan is leisurely playing a tune on his flute. Two beautiful horses - white and gold - stand on their back legs and look in opposing directions, as if they were defending Ivan from invisible enemies. The subtle and minimalistic use of colors in this lovely little box give it a clean, sophisticated look.

The box is made from papier mache. It sits flat with no legs, and has a hinge at the top. The interior is red. Signed with artist's initials, name of the composition, and village. Lacquer is in excellent condition.
