An old Russian church is painted with great detail on this miniature by Fedoskino artist Mikhalov. The nuances present in this work, such as a tasteful sprinkling of minute specks of gold on the tree and on the ground, create an overall subtle effect of the scene. The drawing is framed with two gold line borders and another one decorates the sides. The base color is black, and the interior is red. The box is made out of high quality papier mache and has a hinge at the top. Signed with the name of the artist, village, and year.
