This mother and son pair seem to float through the swirling gold and blue background, as if in a dream. The child softly holds a small white flower. Radiant golden inlay perfectly accents their blond hair while silver inlay brings out the cool tones in their clothing. Brilliant gold flowers adorn the sides and bottom of the box. This piece is made of high quality papier mache with a red lacquer interior. It is signed with the village, year, and artist (R. Chibisova). The bottom is flush. Quite a touching scene: a mother's protective and loving embrace!
