The lovely Snow Maiden stands quietly in a forest. A very small bird is perched on her mitten and the two look at each other directly in the eye. The Snow Maiden is at home here, and all the forest creatures, no matter how large or small, are her friends. The artist, Viacheslav Svyatchenkov, painted this piece of beautiful simplicity. The colors of the background and the almost identical color of the Snow Maiden's coat glow with a metallic silver paint. There is a white line border on the top and another adorning the sides. The box is made out of high quality papier mache and has a hinge at the left. It is signed with the name of the artist and village. The artist, Svyatchenkov, has several boxes featured in two of the most recent books on Russian lacquer art: "Russian Lacquer Painting - 21st Century" and "Russian Lacquer Miniatures".
