Very endearing look at The Snow Maiden and a few of the creatures that she feels right at home with. The girl gently cradles a small bunny in her hand, and you can sense the unspoken communication between them. Smaller birds are nestled in trees near her head. The fur covered hat of the Snow Maiden disappears almost imperceptibly into the snowy woods. The artist, M. Khasanova, painted her face with much beauty and attention to details. She also applied some very delicate touches of gold leaf in the breasts of the birds, and a few parts of the girl's winter garb. The sides and bottom are painted in a pale green color with light patches of gold. The box is made out of high quality papier mache and has a hinge at the left. Signed at the bottom of the drawing with the name of the artist, village and year. One of the prettiest portraits of the Snow Maiden that we have seen in a long time.
