Two trees cast shadows across a small hilltop clearing in this lovely box by Fedoskino artist M. Nazarova. The cream colors of the sky and river compliment the beautiful autumnal browns of the rest of the landscape. Delicate specks of gold leaf are applied sparsely to the trees and field. The surroundings are quiet and comfortable, and are enjoyed by a few birds flying above. The box is adorned with some simple line ornaments which frame the composition and decorate the sides. The base color is black, the interior is red. The box is made out of high quality papier mache and is signed on the bottom with the name of the artist, village and year. Beautiful!
