Sitting under a snow covered tree, a girl carefully holds a white pigeon in her hand. With a glove touching her chin, her thoughts seems elsewhere, perhaps even on the melancholy side. But she knows that she couldn't be in a better place - cats are playing around her, lovebirds are in the tree, a two horse sleigh dashing by in the distance, and a fresh wintry atmosphere is there to enjoy. The box is nicely done throughout with fine touches of gold leaf. It is made out of high quality papier mache and has a hinge at the top. It stands on four legs and has a red interior. Signed on the bottom with the name of the artist (Galkina), village and title. We had a similar box by the same artist about a year ago, but this one may be even nicer as the shape is a little more interesting. With a lot to like, this one will probably go quickly, too.
