Fedoskino artist Zimin tries something a little unusual for Russian lacquer art - an impressionistic portrait. Less detailed than you would normally find on a box, this image of a girl with a fan nonetheless makes an impact on the viewer. Two gorgeous inlays of mother of pearl (in the girl's hat and in the fan) enhance the overall effect. The box has several simple line ornaments and has a hinge at the left. It is made out of high quality papier mache and signed with the name of the artist and year. An interesting and pleasing piece which will add variety to your collection.
