Shimmering abstract ripples in a riot of shapes and textures undulate from the flush base of this striking box by Chirkova, climbing the sides before parting on the lid to reveal a dreamy eyed beauty. Pale bronze tendrils of her hair are cought by the flow of the current, the locks weaving themselves into the fabric of the tides. The realistically painted figure stands out beautifully against the sheer metallic ribbons, and wears an astoung range of moods as the box is turned in the light. The body of the box is a soft blue. This box is signed on its flush base with the title, artist's name, village, and date of completion. There is a hinge on the left, and the interior is red lacquer.
