A woman walks through the autumn streets of a city, she and her dog sheltered from the flurries of brilliant falling leaves by a delicate parasol. The swirling dance of fallen foliage echoes the elegant sweep of the tiny bridge and balustrade behind the pair, creating a strong sense of movement. Delicate golden accents add a subtle sheen while creating texture and detail, while a brilliant gold foil underlay creates a background mimicking the magic of an autumn sunset. Carefully placed touches of green tell of summer's recent passing. The sides and flush base are adorned with sparkling gold and silver leave, painted in Chibisov's signature "reverse painting" style. This box is made of high quality papier mache, and is signed amid a quartet of graceful golden leaves on the underside of the lid with the title, artist's name (R. Chibisov), village, and date of completion. There is a hinge on the left, and the interior is red lacquer.
