The bare trunks of a darkened forest part to reveal a rustic church. Tiny figures make their way to worship as a pair of birds fly overhead. A limited palette of gold, bronze, and green creates a nostalgic feeling. The Generous amounts of metallic paint and clever use of painterly skill create a dazzling play of light as the box is turned this way and that. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed discreetly on the lid with the artist's name (Svyatchenkov) and village. There is a hinge at the top, and the interior is rich, chocolate colored lacquer. The sides are an elegant taupe color, which deepens to black at the edges.--BOX1063
