Brilliant gold foil gleams like molten sunlight on the entirety of this homage to the popular Russian pastime of mushroom hunting. A slew of succulent mushrooms lay atop a patchwork scarf on splintery tree stump. The sides are textured to resemble bark and are crowded with ghostly white mushrooms of a wide range of shapes and sizes. Thin threads of gold criss cross the work, calling to mind slender grasses and spider webs. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on its flush base with the title, artist's name (T. Danchenko), and village, as well as a tiny spider web.
