Three houses in this beautiful winter landscape stand at the edge of a grove, burdened under heavy heaps of snow. The stillness of the winter scene is only interrupted by the flock of birds flying between the pine trees on the background. The pine trees themselves stand out beautifully against the primarily brown and grey hues of the painting, giving it a subtle lively touch.

The box is made from papier mache and has a hinge at the top. It's elevated slightly by the four carved edges on the bottom. The interior is red. Signed with the name of the artist and village. Lacquer is in excellent condition.
