Father Frost glares at his daughter, the Snowmaiden, and forbids her to live among the humans. Her eyes indicate that she is listening to the words of her mother, Faerie Spring, instead. Faerie Spring seems to be saying that Father Frost will come around eventually. The scene is nicely painted in vivid colors, with thoughtfully placed golden accents. It is framed by a thick border of silver and gold, which is echoed on the sides. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the lid with the title, artist's name (G. Pyatkova), and village. There is a hinge at the top, and the interior is red lacquer. It rests on four curved legs.--BOX1104
