Artist Profile - Gennadij Skripunov

Artist Image

Gennadij Skripunov, 76, has been one of the leading Fedoskino artists for over 40 years. After participating in the Great Fatherland War in 1941-45, Skripunov started working at the Fedoskino factory in 1953. His name and pictures of his miniatures are found in numerous books including Lucy Maxym's "The Lucy Maxim Collection of Russian Lacquer", N.Y.,1989, N.104, the catalog "Fedoskino Lacquer Miniature", Moscow, 1995, N.15, N.Krestovskaya "Russian Lacquers", Moscow, 1995, N.148-150, L.Pirogova "200 years of Russian Lacquery", 1996, p.99, 100, Album-Anthology "Russian Lacquer Miniature", Moscow, 1994, N.73 and 84, among others. He is a member of the prestigious Union of Artists of Russia. Skripunov is still active and full of energy to paint. Not long ago he had some beautiful miniature boxes and watercolors on display at the gallery "Tushino", Moscow - just one in a long line of exhibitions by this artist. Although Skripunov has painted countless fairy tale boxes in the past, the artist excels in drawing lyrical and thoughtful scenes of nature and small towns. Church and monasteries, pine forests, quiet lakes and rivers, the Russian countryside, and bouquets of lovely flowers are just a few of his favorite themes which are close to his heart.

Special offering: For collectors interested in receiving an autographed catalog from this artist (first pages shown above), featuring some of his boxes and watercolor paintings, we have a very limited supply on hand which we can offer to you while supplies last at $7.95 (including shipping). The catalog is in Russian and English and shows some of his major works and list of accomplishments.
