The brave Ivan Tsarevich managed to seize the perpetrator that has been stealing his father's apples. But the Firebird was quick to disingage and leave the young man with only one of its luminous feathers! This colorful, joyful composition is painted in traditional Mstera style: the background is completely filled up with color, and warm reds and yellows energetically contrast the cool blues and greens, creating a true chromatic feast for the eye.

This lovely little box is made from papier mache. It sits flat with no legs, and has a hinge at the top. The top and sides of the box are adorned with an elaborate golden ornament. The composition is signed with the name of the village and artist's initials. Lacquer is in good condition.
