Ivan Tsarevich, and two noble steeds, stand at the kingdom's gate as the Tsar looks on. The scene explodes with a variety of bright vivid colors and our hero, Ivan, is dressed in white in the middle of it all. The box's narrow oval shape, in a horizontal layout, allows the artist to present a nice panoramic vantage point for the scene and he fills it with a lot of details. A dot ornament frames the composition, and there is a more elaborate one along the sides. The box sits flat, but has some contours in the middle which give it a nice touch. It is hinged and has a red interior. Signed with the initials of the artist, village and name of the work.
