A butterfly soars beneath a summer sky of soft peach and grey,dipping over fields of nodding grass. A heavy headed blossom bows as the delicate traveler approaches. The dimensional treatment of the blossom, and mother of pearl wing add depth. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the base with the artist's name (L. Yablokova) and village. There is no hinge, and the interior is red lacquer. The artist did two of these boxes, both almost identical. --BOX1322
