In this good sized circular box, Ivan Tsarevich manages to snatch a single feather from the wings of the fabled Firebird. The Firebird is often thought of as a symbol of perfect happiness, and it is quite fitting that although our fairy tale heros have tried to capture the whole bird, most only come away with a feather or two. In this work, the artist, I. Tikhomirova, really did a great job in drawing the bird and its elaborate feathers. Each feather is accented with radiant gold leaf, as well. The box is made out of high quality papier mache and does not have a hinge. Its interior is red and the base is flush. Signed with the title, name of the artist and village.
