An elegant woman peers out at the viewer from beneath an elaborate hairdo. Twin clusters of soft curls and the sheer folds of a gauzy scarf frame her porcelain skin. Her grey eyes seem to sparkle as a slight blush starts to color her pale cheeks and a hint of a smile plays on her lips. Tiny brush strokes add texture to the cream and almond background without distracting from the subject. The box is much brighter (depending on your monitor settings), and the colors are warmer, and less green than they appear in these photographs. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the lid with the artist's name (Svyatchenkov) and village. There is a hinge on the left, and the interior is cream colored lacquer.
